Here’s a deeper dive into each of the five factors that contributed to Donald Trump’s victory and the Democrats’ loss:

Economic Frustrations and Anti-Incumbency
Voters are usually influenced by economy- a factor that usually decides the election results. Although there is some economic relief under role of Joe Biden, many people in the USA have not escaped the impacts of more recent recessions like high inflation rates, high unemployment levels or rising costs of living. While other events such as the pandemic and other conflicts around the world affected the economy, the voters put the blame on Biden as well as the Democrats.
Comparison with Trump’s Economic Record: The voters recalled a period when the economy of the US looked more advantageous during Trump’s presidency, the inflation rate and unemployment was lower. Trump played on this insecurity linking himself into the candidate capable of making the US economies whole again.
