In the past two months, a new form of flu has been reported in China and Japan, and it is called Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV). This virus is capable of reaching the same level of threat as COVID-19. HMPV was first described about two decades ago, but up to date no sort of vaccine was invented. A person has to quarantine himself and wear a mask like when COVID-19 was a major issue; such precautions can work for this virus too, So do regular washing of your hand with soap and water it for 20 seconds, avoiding contact the face with contaminated hand and avoiding contact with persons with contagious diseases.

Symptoms

When HMPV (Human Metapneumovirus) infection occurs, the following symptoms are usually observed:

Common cold and cough: Initial symptoms similar to a cold.

Fever: Moderate to high fever may occur.

Shortness of breath: Difficulty in breathing or rapid breathing.

Sore throat: Burning sensation or pain in the throat.

Fatigue: Weakness or tiredness in the body.

Runny nose: Nasal discharge or congestion.

Chest discomfort: Especially if the infection spreads to the lungs.
