Early Life and Beginnings
Amelia Mary Earhart was born on July 24, 1897 in Atchison, Kansas, United States. Her upbringing was unconventional at the time. Amelia was a curious and adventurous child. She grew up in a family that valued independence. She broke traditional standards by preferring outdoor exploration and pastimes like as tree climbing and sledding, all of which were considered unsuitable for girls at the time. Amelia’s parents, Edwin and Amy Earhart, struggled financially, which had an impact on her early education. Despite many relocations, she excelled academically and briefly attended Columbia University, studying pre-med before following her actual interest, aviation.
