Exploring Niagara Falls: Memories | Friends | and Nature’s Symphony
Niagara’s Majesty

It all began with a midnight bus ride from Manhattan, heading towards Niagara. As soon as the journey started, Bob Marley’s iconic song began to echo in my mind: “Buffalo Soldier, dreadlocked Rasta. There was a Buffalo Soldier, in the heart of America…” For many of us in the ’90s, this was a favorite track — sometimes even sung as a parody. The sudden memory of Bob Marley was triggered by the destination: Buffalo, home to Niagara Falls.
After a seven-hour journey, I arrived in Buffalo early in the morning. Everything felt unfamiliar. Bob Marley’s tune faded as the natural symphony of Niagara’s cascading waters took over.
I couldn’t contain my excitement to witness the falls. A quick Google search showed the destination was still 21 kilometers away, and I felt a twinge of panic. I called my friend Ayan Khan for advice. Ayan, a former journalist, asked me to wait at the bus counter. Soon, he arrived in a white car, bringing breakfast lovingly prepared by his wife: parathas, meat, and eggs. In this unfamiliar land, I felt incredibly lucky. Ayan even left his work to drive me to Niagara Falls and guided me like a pro, explaining the best spots to enjoy the view.
