A few moments ago, many of Meta’s platforms have been experiencing massive outages. These include Facebook, Instagram, Threads, WhatsApp and Messenger; and these disruptions have not only been reported across these five platforms but across a range of apps. These include Bluesky, X, and Reddit where the public is having challenges in terms of app loading and the presence of error messages.

Facebook’s error message reads: “We’re working on getting this fixed as soon as we can.”

Downdetector, a service tracking online outages, shows significant spikes in reports for Meta’s apps. Instagram alone has seen over 70,000 issue reports, while Facebook has logged over 100,000, highlighting the extensive scale of the disruption.

Meta has yet to respond to inquiries regarding the cause of the outage. This follows a history of similar incidents, including a major disruption in March and another in October 2022 that affected multiple Meta platforms.
