TikTok is one of the most famous applications globally, and the primary market is Western countries, for an app company by a Chinese firm. In its view, U.S. media outlets have stated that TikTok is one of the most used applications in the United States, and more widespread among the youth. However, despite the number of downloads worldwide, its usage might be prohibited in the US very soon.

Legal Challenges and the Ban

ByteDance the parent company for TikTok recently failed to challenge the ban by the U.S. government in a court in Washington. Therefore the ban is planned to begin from January 19. TikTok said it will challenge the administration’s ban in the U.S. Supreme Court. If the decision of the Supreme Court is in favor of this ruling, it will be impossible for ByteDance to carry out its operation in the United States.

In April, President Joe Biden signed a bill that gave TikTok two options: sell their company to an entity outside China or else face a ban. ByteDance went for a legal halt on this decision and the court dismissed the request.
