Why Women Lose More Hair?

Losing 100 to 125 hair strands daily is normal, but when this number increases, it becomes a problem. Both men and women experience hair loss, but women tend to suffer more and often feel more anxious about it.
The condition associated with women’s hair loss is called androgenetic alopecia, characterized by thinning hair on the top and sides of the head. Various factors can contribute to increased hair fall:
Lack of Nutrition
Many women reduce nutritious food intake in an effort to lose weight, leading to deficiencies in essential nutrients, especially protein, minerals, and vitamins. A lack of protein can significantly impact hair health. Women often consume more carbohydrates than proteins, so it’s crucial to include foods like fish, meat, milk, eggs, and lentils in their diets.
Vitamins B12 and D are vital for hair growth and maintaining scalp health. A deficiency in these vitamins can also lead to hair fall, with B12 and D found in meat and dairy products. Those with limited sun exposure may suffer from a Vitamin D deficiency.
Medication
Some birth control pills contain the hormone progesterone, which is a major contributor to hair loss. It’s important to understand the side effects of any medication before use, as other drugs can also cause hair fall.
