When the cold season arrives, and the atmosphere becomes chilly with low humidity, skin can seriously deteriorate. Ranging from merely itchy skin to flaky scalp, the fluctuating weather can sometimes take a toll on your skin. From this our blog post, our reader will be enlightened with various causes of skin and scalp problems in winter and how they can be prevented.

Why Does Your Skin Become Dry and Itchy in Winter?

Particularly, winter inspires much less humidity than hot summer, and thus, our skin starts to fade rather quickly. Even cold weather causes our bodies to shut down sebum, the natural oil in the skin that helps hold onto moisture. Climatically, indoor heating can add to the problem since it tends to remove moisture out of the air and as such makes the environment drier.

How does Winter Air and Indoor Heating affect skin hydration?

We know that winter air is extremely dry as well as the indoor heating systems which remove skin’s natural moisture content. Skin dryness is not the only issue that occurs, but also leads to early skin aging in the form of fine lines and wrinkles.
